This Isn’t Vacation Anymore, Toto

Going straight from a long weekend away to a personal training session at LA Boxing? Yeah. That was rough.

There were tires.

(My tricep is lookin’ fierce!!)

And pull ups done while bouncing on the tire (which I was almost too short for):

And inner leg squeezes.

And planks and pushups on weighted balls.
(Put one hand down on the ground. Put the other hand down. Move them back up onto the balls. Repeat.)

Sometimes I moved so quickly my camera couldn’t keep up.

Sometimes I didn’t.

And sometimes I just watched the clock ;)

But I was ALWAYS sweating! :)

Do you jump right back into a hard workout upon returning from a trip? Even though it’s hard because I’m usually tired, I like to, because it really helps me get back on track! Even though I hit the hotel gym a couple times over the weekend and went for a short run, it was still good to get in some serious sweat-age. I missed it!

Check out my previous LA Boxing posts for some inspiration:

I cannot believe health insurance premiums continue to rise as they have been. We have individual (i.e. family) coverage, and the rates for our family of 5 have increased over 25% in each of the last 2 years. This does not include a change in our age group. That will be coming next year as my husband turns 45. This rate of cost increases cannot continue. What’s going to happen to people who make less than we do? (And are typically younger, and who typically make less money.) They will start to drop off of the lists of those who have insurance. And the cycle will continue. Does the federal health care reform change any of this? For us it’s only a matter of time before I either have to drop off the roles of the insured, or change my lifestyle completely by selling my house, or worse. Maybe we’ll have to move to Europe, where coverage is mandatory.

I currently own a 2006 Mazda 6 S (the V6 version) with a 5 speed manual, and I am actually in the process of selling the car (with 60,000 miles). That sounds like far far too many miles. Unless you plan on dropping a new engine in it. It also depends on what engine it currently has. I’m guessing if it has that many miles only the four cylinder 2.3 engine managed to make it that far. If it has the V6 engine and that many miles, I would not go for it.
