LETTERS TO LA BOXING: KEN HAGEN
Gabe,
LA Boxing has become my newest passion. I look forward to each and every class. I am so grateful that Robbie invited me to take the free class. That one class was all the motivation I needed to join. You must be very proud of the Trainers on your staff. Mark, Matt, Thomas, Blake, and Hans motivate, push, encourage, and instruct the technique that has sparked a new desire in me to be fit.
I just finished getting my bike back together and applying the new graphics. I attached some photos. Hope you like the placement of the logo. I am now second-guessing if I should have went with the distressed logo but this one still looks pretty sharp.
I hope to improve my results this year in the Louisiana Cross Country Series as I feel that I will have more stamina throughout the race and be able to charge at full race pace to the end.
The 1st race for the LACC is February 12th in Leesville, LA and I am looking forward to putting my fitness to the test. Last year I made the podium 6 out of 10 races in the Senior +50 class and earned the 3rd place year end award for that class. I feel like the workouts at LA Boxing will be a large factor in helping me achieve better results for the 2012 season. I will update you after each race. I want to thank you for providing me with a fun and exciting venue to exercise, improve my health, and push myself to new heights. Thanks to LA Boxing Baton Rouge.
Thank you Gabe,
Ken Hagen
The Big 8 Race: 2nd Place
Ken Hagen captures 2nd place in the Senior 50 Division at LACC’s “The Big 8” event held in Dubach, Louisiana. Hagen completed six laps on the treacherous off-road course during the 1 hour & 30 minute time period. Ken’s level of fitness and cardio threshold allowed him to maintain a consistently fast pace each lap to the final minutes.

Learn To Keep Yourself Accountable
By Jeanine Grayson
So you’ve made up your mind. It’s time to lose weight, slim down, and tone up. With the new gym membership in hand, your latest motivational iTunes loaded, and visions of a new YOU with that killer bod on the beach, you promise yourself this year will be different! Of course, it will be different AFTER the holidays, the vacation, and a few parties here and there.
Admit it! There’s always an excuse to postpone your fitness facelift. Why get started if you know a weekend or two will be filled with calorie quenching delicacies? And so the cycle continues; you wait to ‘get serious’ until your schedule allows.
“It was time for a lifestyle change,” said Meghan Henson, an aspiring designer in the fashion industry who recently shed an astounding 25 pounds. Under the guidance of her trainer, Stacey DeJohn, Meghan not only transformed her looks but also her whole outlook on everyday living.
“What makes Meghan’s success so gratifying for me is the way she did it,” remarked Stacey, a certified personal trainer at LA Boxing. Throughout the distractions of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Mardi Gras and trips to New York and Mexico, Meghan continued her path of steady weight loss by simply following DeJohn’s plan of proper nutrition and consistent exercise.
“So often I see people leave the gym, after a great workout, and forget that fitness follows them out the doors,” said Stacey. DeJohn’s philosophy is to create a plan (physically and nutritionally), write it down, and stay dedicated. “There’s no secret potion, just accountability.”
Combining her regular boxing classes with specific workouts created by Stacey and armed with much more nutritional awareness, Meghan found the right balance she can live with…regardless of her schedule or season. “I’ve never felt healthier,” Meghan expressed. “I know I can continue to practice the diet and exercise habits Stacey taught me for the rest of my life!”
